Re: Finally I have a CRX

here are some pictures showing the rust part... anyway to combat these rust spots... the rest of the car is quite rust-free except the picture shown here.

Re: Finally I have a CRX

multipoint will allow you too boost because you can spray in more fuel. I have a z6 intake mani with injectors and fuel rail and an a6 intake mani with injectors , fuel rail, and dizzy. Let me know..i can take pics for you if you want either of them.

VeilSide 07-24-2005 03:31 PM

Re: Finally I have a CRX

A lot better than what i paid for mine, but as i've said before i let myself get ripped off. A crx is hard to find in the area, see them at the cruise ins and ---- but not for sale.

Re: Finally I have a CRX

You're complaining about THAT rust? :o It' nearly impossible to get a Honda with that little of rust around here. Sounds like a solid deal though, I'd hit it ;)

Re: Finally I have a CRX

thanks all , will post more pics later after i change to MPFI and vtec head

absolutezroo 07-24-2005 04:12 PM

Re: Finally I have a CRX

yes for multipoint you need to change some wiring ...it's very simple and only took me about 1 hour or so and i did that combined with a obd1 conversion. Looks like a nice deal. I paid 850 for a rusted hunk of ----. but i love it lol good luck man

BoosTedZSix 07-24-2005 04:31 PM

Re: Finally I have a CRX

pretty sweet deal.

My next car is going to be a crx , have to love the power to weight ratio

VeilSide 07-24-2005 05:11 PM

Re: Finally I have a CRX

so how did u guys deal with the rust?.....after opening up my passenger side rocker cover... i realise i have some serious rust goin on... will snap pics for u guys later..... :'( :'(

now i dont know what to do with the rust... should i just leave it like this or do something about it.

Re: Finally I have a CRX

The rust on the rear quarters isn't nearly as bad as EVERY CRX around here. That is still just surface rust. Sand that ---- down to bare metal and primer/repaint it.

stillnoturbo 07-24-2005 05:55 PM

Re: Finally I have a CRX

Pull of that rubber trim piece where the rust is on the wheelwell. Those are the devil. Thats the reason why there's rust.

Do those spray paint that says can convert the rust to primer works?

absolutezroo 07-24-2005 06:36 PM

Re: Finally I have a CRX

HA

thats nothing that thig is in great shape

if you dont cut corners it will come out fine

take off the rear bumper it will be easier to fix the rust above the wheel wellsm check the support to see if its still good, if not get a new one, i coulnt find one anywhere except honda, im not sure what youd pay cause i have a connection at honda

is there holes in the rocker panel??

take all of the plastic trim off and make sure there isnt rust

dont get discouraged, trust me my car was much worse and i fixed it

i had to replace my entire passenger side rocker panel so like i said mine was much worse

Hi , i saw your thread , mad skills man... props to you.... well on the rocker cover there is a hole in the middle if u see closely.... when i was flaking it off i try to knock it to see how bad was it and it poked a hole on it with my screw driver.....*sigh*

well i would want to fix it but i would really want to know how much is it..... this is sort of my daily driver/beater car so if it cost a lot to fix the rust . most probably im just not going to.... would like to know on a condition like this how long this car will last me before it rust to hell...... any idea? i plan to use it for another year or two......would appreciate your advise if i should leave it as is or fix it since im goin to sell it 1 ot 2 years later.

where do you live and what is the climate like?

VeilSide 07-24-2005 10:19 PM

Re: Finally I have a CRX

live in kansas.... there is 4 seasons here...... winter , fall , spring , summer......

so should i just leave it as is? or can i just buy those spray called POR-15 and spray over it?

how much is it to buy a grinder and which one is consider just good enough for sanding/grinding/cutting purposes?

solfly 07-25-2005 06:22 AM

Re: Finally I have a CRX

if you really like the car and want to keep it get a quote from a body shop theres probably only 4-5 hours of labor there so i bet it would be abour 350-500 to fix, a small price to get more years out of it

VeilSide 07-25-2005 02:20 PM

Re: Finally I have a CRX

any tips/tricks to do body work? with these kind of rust especially?

like should i use POR15 or fibreglass.... i cant go the cut and weld route becuase i dont have a welder...sigh*
