finally buying a honda

well i had plans of buying a d15b8 hatch but it turned out poop
then a b18b integra sedan (auto :3)

but i think i finally decided on a minty looking (i get to see it in person monday)
1994 civic coupe
with a d16z6 vtakkk engine
i think it should be a pretty good start to my own home made turbo
i actually already have a goal (tho it is an easy one i am taking baby steps and plan to be turbo and over 200whp by next summer, if i end up buying it that is)

so what do you guys think is the d16z6 a good place to start boosting?
i was going to boost my intrigue but with a lack of popularity i think it would be a bit to difficult as a first boosted build

also i have plans to pickup annother d16z6 engine complete and build it (mildly with pistons, rods, complete bottomend ballancing and some head work maby even a cam)
and boost the stock z6 that has 160k miles until it blows and just throw the built one in (that way when i blow up the stock z6 it's not to big a deal, and i know i will blow it up because i have never boosted anything before)

the z6 is a good start imo. i would like to boost a vtec engine but i dont have a vtec and have a perfect zc. when the zc blows i would like to go vtec

exactly what I started with, and I miss that car. If you can, I would get a compression test on it before you buy it. Just ask the seller if you can take it to a mechanic and have it checked out...then have the mech do a comp test

You can get it for more like $10 at harbor freight. I got one... Works good.

you will not get an accurate reading with the comp test
Your ---- can be chugging away oil but the mountain of carbon deposits on the piston heads flaws the test.
Get a buddy that knows what oil/gas/antifreeze smells like coming out of the tailpipe and have him drive behind you as you boot it. Or leak down test it if your not that ghetto.
