Finally Boosted...*56 no i-d-e-a*...

Thanks everyone for always helping me out with all my n00b questions and for providing such an excellent site so that someone like me can be able to boost my daily driver safely and altogether very affordable in the meantime. Thank God to for blessing me with all the good deals I came by and helping through the problems that occured not to mention that He keeps me safe when I drive it now. LOL. Thanks My friends I have made on here to help me on my way. Thanks to David (Csaddict) for letting me nag him all the time and making my wonderful manifold ;D, my Dad who learned about turbos through me and HMT and built his first turbo car not to mention LET me do this and to have our very own Father-Son project, my sister who supported me, threw her in the seat on the 1st night back in a 2nd gear pull, and is helping me with my upcoming vids, my friend Chris who helped where he could, Jay that let me nag him and show me the how-to and got me nice deals, and finally John (93turbo16) who did a fantastic job on my fuel management and tuning. Thanks again to everyone! I'm VERY greatful.

First off is the Racemode Van (this is for you Dan (SinisterCRX)). I'm ready to run 'em! As David said, comes with factory rice (a wing). It has the tunertoys.com sticker under the wing, but I deleted the pic. The Stealthmode is in the front windshield on the passenger going down it. I took a pic, but it didn' come out.

Dad cut this pipe and the exhaust man welded it. So basically, my Dad did the downpipe. Not bad, huh? We had 4" to work with. :o

Fab shop recommended this 30 degree fitting, then the Stevemode on top. No bends. Best part of the whole car.

I can say this is one of the nicest turbo setups I have tuned for a single cam. You guys were great to work with and I am glad that your trip up and back was good. The car has a huge power band, boost comes on very quick and pulls all the way like it should. You will definitley surprise a bunch of people in this car. ;)

Thanks John. Very good tuner. If your in the Central PA area or drove 3hrs (like me) to be there, go see this guy. He was very quick and knowledgable on turboing vehicles not to mention the 5 cars all ready or boost and the crazy amount of turbo stuff that filled a 2 car garage.

Just ditch the inlet gasket from the mani to the turbo. Tighten her down good and if your flange isn't warped then you shouldn't have any problems with leaks. I've yet to use a gasket or any gaskets from manifold down to the tailpipe with no leaks. So with all these people that helped you out, what did you contribute since someone made your manifold, someone tuned it for you, someone else did the welding? What was so father-son?

I worked and bought it. Then we assembled most of it. We have a lack of tools and actually had to do all the work at my grandparents house (thanks for the garge). We don't own a welder, a wideband, a EPROM burner, etc. I wasn't planning on doing this all the time so no need in buying all that stuff for one time.

Thanks guys. Goal was to have a daily driven car, sleeper, not blow, look clean, run 13.9 street tires.

Well, I know my Dad can vouche and maybe John if he reads this again, but we were doing 3rd gear pulls and before we started he asks "Ever driven a turbo car before?" I said yes once a buddies GS-T, but only to hear the BOV in the mall parking lot. Well we started at 5psi and after that pull I said "Nope, never drove a boosted car before." When we got to 10.5 psi and started rolling up to 3500rpm then flooring it to redline, I was shaking. We got back and I was silent. I didn't know if I wanted a turbo car anymore. Seriously, I was now deathly afraid of it. I still haven't gotten in it all since the pulls in 3rd. So that will tell you something.

The car does pull good. Not too scary, but for some one who has never driven one before, it can be a rush. You all know what it feels like. BUt the only ---- that scares me now are 500+ HP street cars.. I would never own one. :-*

try riding in a car that has 500lbs of torque and is rear wheel drive, now that is some scary ----, 200lbs of tq in a fWD car is measly

Re: Finally Boosted...*56 no i-d-e-a*...

Here's the thing. Remember the thread about "What's a fast/quick car to you?"? Everyone had to be in the 12s to be quick or fast, right? My response, mid-low 15 sec car owns 85% of the cars out here. My buddy said our friend's sprayed GSR HAS to be running low 14s high 13s. It barely puts you back. I drove mine and at hotrex throttle in 2nd it pinned me. Yes, slow to you, to me very fast. Fastest car I ever drove. So, it's fun/fast to me and it's quick for the people in my town, only problem is the people going to say stuff like "10.5 psi? On a stock block? I give it 2 weeks." One kid "gave me" 2 weeks to blow it because stock pump on 10.5psi. I hate how I know what I'm doing and DO it, but others don't know and give ME suggestions on what to do. Thanks again for looking everyone!

LMAO. Well, knows more than they do, and have now done it. I do admit on here I'm a n00b and will always be, but out here I'm basically a turbo go-to guy (in my own mind) LOL.

I'm not. I just like to think that. I don't know much at all. However, more than the people who are giving me advice and saying my car won't last with stock internals and what not. No one will ask me anything, most think I'm dumb. I know very little, but more than they do.

Good job. Hopefully spring break of 2006 is when I will be piecing together my turbo kit. Its going on my LS. Hoping for about 300-350 HP out of it. I hope it will scare the ---- out of me every time I punch it.
