Fiero or Mr2?

From a performance/ build up standpoint (including handling!) which do you guys think is a better platform. Looking at the options of building a highspeed cruiser with a midengine layout... cause, well I think they're hella sexy.

id say go with the mr2, its newer. which means it has more innovation and technology that went into its design

88 gt fiero all the way they cam with the same suspension as the lotus's of the same year if you want big power you and drop in a 3800 H.O. engine out of a newer gtp grand-am or a 350 out of... every chevy ever made lol

Re: Fiero or Mr2?

well I was thinking about a newer model mr2 just because of the decent after market, although the older model would definately make a pimp og ride. Fieros on the other hand can squeeze an ls2 in the bay. I'm looking for something that's stable at high speeds though.

wow thats a tough one. im going to say go with the mr2. you probably could make more power by swapping engine with the fiero though.

go with the newer mr2s (90-95). there's more of them around, easier to find misc parts, no need to swap engines. but if your budget only allows for the older ones, they are just as good. rust on the rear quarter panels pwns the older models.

Re: Fiero or Mr2?

MK1 MR2 have more room then a Fiero in the inside. I was going to buy both. A 84 4cyl Fiero and an 87 Twin Charged(ya that's right Super and the HKS Turbo kit on it). The Fiero I didn't buy because I found my Civic for a better deal, the MR2 because i didn't think it would be good for my first car.

I like the Mk2 MR2's but bloddy expensive!!
Fiero's had fualty engine harnesses in the first years that caused fires. The body is Fibre Glass, so other then cracks and Rot NO RUST!!!

Go with the Fiero. I've ALWAYS loved the Styling! There is a Lady Driven 2.8l Turbo Fiero laying low 13s with auto and street tires. Either that or toss a 3800 SC GTP motor in it. This has always been one of my thoughts. A guy at the local stip has one gutted, converted to RWD F-motor with a 327 SBC in it, FAST AS HELL but Drag only.

If you want to see something cool, go to car domain and search for an 87 MR2 they call the toystar. It has a northstar 32v V8 in it from a Caddi STS. Really Cool.
