Fake survelence camera?
 

I have alot a stuff in the driveway/garage. is there anywhere i can buy a cheap survelence camera, or a fake one that looks real so it woudl deteer anyone from coming onto my property.

get some real ones... they got full servalence setups that are worth it for a couple hundred... aim them n dont hide them... make them obvious n put up a damn sign to make them know there there... "property under servailance" or some ----... fake ones will do you no justice... if i saw a fake one i'd beat it down with a bat n put it on ur door step with a piece of paper that says "LOL"

lol, when my wheels got stolen the cops showed up, next thing I'm down town explaining my situation because they thought my car was stolen, even though it was never reported stollen by anyone ::) Most cops are retards, I think tuname420 would fit right in.

Friend of mine did that at a convenience store he managed. Had a theft problem, so he put up signs and fake cameras. Took care of the problem almost instantly.

Friend of mine has a fake on on his garage, not sure it if does anything, can't really tell until something gets stolen.

The signs are the major thing though. People can always miss cameras up high, they can't miss big signe.

If I were going to steal parts, and one house had cameras and the next didnt...I think I would go to the next. I dont think a theif would take the chance unless there was really something there that they wanted.

my family owns some vacation property thats far enough away my parents don't go there that often, maybe once every couple of months or so. We had a problem with people vandalizing some of the machinery, and someone broke into the cabin. My parents put up a survelence camera on the roof of the cabin, has a blinking red light can't miss it.... ever since then nobody has been back. Honestly the thing looks fake, cause it is heh....

so I'd say fake is definately fine

haha, i got a like 8k survelence system in the garage, well it was 8k like 8 years ago, haha.

Man you could put up a video system cheap. ---- the fake ----. Oh and Frank I knew which one was fake, the fake ones try to look too real ;)

i picked the right fake one too. If I was going though the trouble to steal someones car, and they had a camera on the garage. I would just disable the camera, with spray paint or whatever else i could.. locks only keep honest people out.

yeah, like everyone has told you, you can hook up an actual survailance system for pretty cheap. but you came here posting about a fake camera....so if you want a fake camera....here is a pretty cheap one...and it even moves when you walk by, and it has a little blinky red light...so it looks just like a real one ;)

why do you want a camera anyway? i wokred at several places that have been robbed and usually all you get from the surveilance video is watching someone steal ----, they are usually smart enough to cover their face with something and wear gloves ( cops probably won't search for prints anyway) and the video is usually so bad you can't id the person unless you know them really well. i say get an alarm or a big ass dog.

haha, the best alarm is a dog that you have to tranquilize to get in and out of the garage. your parts will never be stolen.....

unless the theives have tranquilizers...damn

A dog will most likely alert you when/if someone comes onto your property though. Chances are they are going to make some sort of noise when stealing ---- and when a dog hears noise in the middle of the night they go ape ----. It pisses you off sometimes, but it will be worth it. :-\

What kind of dogs are we talking about? No way in hell would you just walk into my house with any of my old dogs without losing a limb or at least waking someone up. Hell, even my boss's little rat dogs go nuts and act like they're going to do some serious damage on someone when they hear noises or see someone they don't know.

you can get the real one for cheap through harbor freight I bought three yester(two days after my car got jacket) but they were only $30 each and have night vision

dr boost, have you seen the show i mentioned?

ther have been many times that the thief has broken into homes that had "gaurd dogs". you would be amazed at the ways they have delt with the dogs....

generally, they are friendly, if they are not, they become friendly once the thief gives them something...


and the fact that dogs that "seem" mean are only mean on the commands of the owner, when they are left alone and a stranger comes up with food, treat, toy, they are more than happy to play with them.

and for those dogs that are very aggressive are specially trained that way and most individuals will not put forth the effort/time/money to train a dog, because in the end, its still a dog.

All in all there's no way you can stop someone from stealing if they really want it and if there good at it. There are deterents i.e dogs, cameras, alarms ect..but they are only deterents. Do you have a garage? I'd say a garage is probably the best thing to get, sure it would cost alot more than a $13 fake camera, but it would also be alot better to have. If you can't have a garage, then signs of property under surveillence is the way to go and get some cameras and hide them, don't make them visible because a hidden camera with a sign will confuse and make the theif really unsure about going on to your property. A visible camera is too easy to take down.
