Fake Paypal email

Just a heads up. I just got an email from what looked like paypal telling me that me account had been accessed from Spain. It wanted me to click a link but I put the cursor over the link and it was not Paypal. I called Paypal to verify. They said under no circumstance to click the link. I forwarded to them. Just thought you guys should know. ;)

this is your first one? crap, i've probably got at least 20 paypal, and i have been getting one for ebay at least once a week for a year... i usually just report them to ebay or paypal... the thing i've always done is never clicked a link through an email, if they need my information updated when i log in on their site by typing in my browser www.ebay.com then they will say so when i log in...

I get emails from paypal all the god damn time. I've told myself that no matter what the email says, I'm not contacting them. If there was a problem, I'm sure they would tell me about it when I logged in. I just delete everything from them.

I don't want to jack the thread, but you said that you put the cursor over the link and the address showed at the bottom, my IE used to do that, but the bar at the bottom disappeared. How do I get it back. Like I said, I don't mean to jack the thread, but it isn't worth the new one

Re: Fake Paypal email

usually the hyperlinks in those emails go to some bogus site, if you put your mouse over them and look at the hyperlink properties. i get fake paypal and fake ebay mails like once or twice a month. forward them to spoof@paypal.com and for ebay spoofs fwd them to spoof@ebay.com

I have been getting those for about a year. It is a great idea for a scam though, most people are very trusting.

I have gmail, it's the best I've used so far for weeding out the bullshit and letting in all the good stuff that I need to read.

Highly reccomend it. If anybody wants an invitation to it PM me, I have like 49 invites left.
