which one would you use more? is it worth the hassle of shipping the rims if sold to someone else? if he has that many games and some movies, that means he probably swapped the hd and put in the necessary sw. have you done that before or willing to take the time?
just some things to think about good luck

Rims are easy to ship. So don't worry about that.
I have been modding x-box's for a while, so I can tell you that it is chea and easy. Just get a HD on sale wherever the big rebate is for the weekend. CompUSA has some good deals. and get the hardware from a reputable online seller, and you are golden. The games loaded on it are almost free. Just get a membership to blockbuster or gamefly and you can get that many in a couple of months, so like $20 in fees.
Did he really tell you that he had 70 games on there? that seems like a lot for an xbox. what size HD is it?
