He cradles the filler rod with his gimped hand. I think he implied that he taped it to the twisted appendage too. Then he just has to move it back and forth and I think that fubbared hand can manage that. I do know that if he drives that thing at any real speed he's going to end up wrecking and ------- up his other mitt. Then he definitely won't be able to TIG with both hands retarded. I suppose he could hold the torch with his mouth and the rod with his pee-hole, but probably not.
