Re: f@f eclispe at the track
I'm gonna say that's not the actual car, thats wayyy too slow to be the actual car. I thought I read somewhere it ran a high 13?
|
Re: f@f eclispe at the track
yeah with that non turbo, turbo engine they talk about at the races. If you look at it in the movie when they pop the hood you can see the 420a clear as day with a header and cold air intake. Its slow
|
Re: f@f eclispe at the track
dam that car is slow. i would drive home after a pass like that :1
|
Re: f@f eclispe at the track
the movie car was automatic
|
Re: f@f eclispe at the track
Yeah but if you listen to him shift when hes driving it right away in the begining its a 6 speed :8
|
Re: f@f eclispe at the track

Re: f@f eclispe at the track
Ok, I'm ashamed, but my F&F knowledge has to let you all know:
The "Original" car wasn't even in the movie. A guy had his car fixed up kinda like the one featured in the movie and went to shows. The producers copied his car and payed him to base the eclipse around how his looked. The owner did a carshow for me when I worked at Westcoast Spoilers. The movie set had around 7 of each of the main cars. All of them identical. None of them were fast whatsoever. One would be rigged up for the blowing up scene, one was rigged for the "floorboards fall out" scene, and there were a couple just in case something happened. Which when they were all racing and the eclipse blew up and spun out, the white civic clipped him in the first take of that scene. They grabbed another identical civic, and another eclipse, and re-shot the scene. The "big drag race" scene was filmed at no more than 30 MPH MAX. None of those fucken cars were fast. ::) And no, I'm not a F&F nerd, I was an extra in the first one. :P |
Re: f@f eclispe at the track
The statistic I DON'T have is how many fucken ricers built cars to make people think they owned the movie cars. Some people built them and sold them on ebay claiming they were the "one" movie car, and I'm sure the producers sold some off, and then your average NOPI faggot probably built two of em. That would explain this lame ass video of an 18 second car. lol

Re: f@f eclispe at the track
jesus steve, you used to sell rice and now you were an extra in F&F. cough homo cough ;)

Re: f@f eclispe at the track
Man, back in the day nobody knew how ricey and gay it would end up being. We were told that they were filming the first "import" movie and it was originally called "Redline". They paid us $80 a night to hang out from 7pm to 7am with free catering trucks all night. The only thing we had to do was ever 15 minutes when they shot a scene we had to stand out in the street and cheer. It was easy money as a kid. 8)
The other scene I was at was when the eclipse rolls up to discuss the race (between the buildings). That was the night we were all shitfaced drunk and my friend tells me "there's ja rule". I was like "who's ja rule?" He tells me he's some rapper guy and I kinda made my way over (everyone was watching the film shooting going on). Then I'm standing next to this guy, and I'm drunk so I say "so, you're some rapper, huh?". Then I asked him which songs he did, and then told him I'd never heard of any of them. Then my friend pulled me away and said he thought he was getting mad because I told him I didn't know any of the songs. Anyway, I got paid $80 for being drunk, and I still don't know who the ---- Darky is. O0 |

Re: f@f eclispe at the track
If you watch the movie closely you can see the rear drum brakes in some scenes (only RS came with rear drums, car "was" a GSX.)

Re: f@f eclispe at the track
in the opening scene in F&F that thing was like a 9 speed... He shifts WAYY More than 5 times lol.

Re: f@f eclispe at the track
Skinny you fucker. You jacked that from a local board. Now I gotta see the same content twice. :S
That ---- is hilarious. I saw some show or read some articles about some ricer cars. The eclipse in the #2 is owned by an actor. He says that his car seriously gets more work than him, especially after the movie. Obviously he isn't gonna put his car in there, they just payed him to use the design. Same way they do most things. Seen a few movie extra feature things; most all movies just have shells with crap motors in them so that they can bust em up on the cheap. Most of em are rigged up for specific things or stunts. I know all the Astons in 007 were gutted and had small block fords in them so they could put all the gadgets under the hood. |
Re: f@f eclispe at the track
I was the pizza guy in F&F. "Damn street racers!". I'll be signing autographs later.
