Expierience of the AZ Race & Machine LSD :)

well...since i have all my B series stuff for sale in the classifieds i sold my AZ race & machine LSD to my buddy AJ. Well we installed that bitch and took it for an abusive test drive. Oh lord the traction is awesome...that ------- little thing works wonders....i know its not a quaife and yes there is a tad bit of torque steer, nothing major...but i could get used to it....traction is the ---- im telling you....we took it to the track and he went from his normal time at a 14.1 to a 13.0 flat with that lil bastard. Now i dont know how long it will handle the abusive driving...its only been in there for 3 days total now...but so far its beautiful. You should see all the smoke we can create from doing burnouts with both tires spinning...hehehehehe its the ---- im telling you....now if your a road racer like auto-x racing....this might not be for you cause it does have a tad bit of torque steer....but if your a drag racer and just love traction....its all for you. if your an auto-x racer get a quaife but hey....for this cheap...i like going straight down a quarter mile with damn good traction baby!!!!

just my expieriences,
lewis

How hard of an install was it? I would buy one, but the install scares me. Do you have any pics of the installation? Transmissions scare me. :-\

"14.1 to a 13.0 flat with that lil bastard." Im gonna need some time slips to back that bold ass statement.

Thats what I was thinking.. Did your 60' go from a 3.0 to a 2.0?

wow, if he got some slicks, he could prolly run a 10.0 ;) just ------- with ya, a time slip would be nice though. good to hear they work good, now let's just see how long the last. also how do you install it? the only thing i've done with a tranny is change a clutch(and axles are a given)

Now I know you guys are going to think that I am partial with my opinion, but the Twin Tracs really do work. I'm with Arizona Race and Machine and I've been into imports since 98', I come from muscle car back ground, and what really sparked my interest was when my built big block Chevelle got smoked by a little red 91 Ls/Vtec crx. :-[ The owner of the car, now a good friend from California, got me very interested, and to make a long story short, took me to the illegal street races in Ontario, back when there were thousands of cars, and cops didnt crack down on it so much. Needless to say, I GOT HOOKED! I've been into it ever since. Now dont get me wrong I like anything fast.
I've got a little B16 all motor 87 Si running 12.8's @ 105mph daily driven. I personally have a Twin Trac in my car, and I love it. We have many units in autocross cars as well as drag cars. The highest hp application we have had one in was a 92 cx hatch with a 323hp turbo GSR, he clicked off a 11.23@122mph running 24" slicks with one of our units in his tranny with no problems, and he loved it, for the traction gains and for the price. I've personally seen 3 tenths of a second shaved off of a 1/4 mi time. I dont know about 14.1 to a 13.0 just form the Twin Trac, I too would like to see a time slip because they are better than I thought if it really gave that car that much :-\traction. All I can say is AZ Race& Machine stands behind its products, we have a limited warranty on the units because I'm just like you guys and I know how hard I beat my tranny so I can imagine what you guys do. If I can answer any questions or help you guys out in anyway let me know. :)

How about an installation walk through? I would like to know how hard it is to put one in. I'm not stupid and I have two thumbs, but I have never taken a tranny apart so I would want to know if a basic mechanic could install these units. Does it come with instructions? Could you post the instructions for us?
