Default Exhaust Question

say i was to have a 2.5" pipe going in to (two smaller pipes, about 1.5" each, but there was 2 of them, would that be the equivalent of a 2.5" pipe going in to a 3" pipe? just wondering about how much that would drop my backpressure? also a cherry bomb muffler would be hooked up to the 2.5" located where the cat used to be, before it turns in to (two) 1.5" pipes and goes to the tips. interesting setup eh?, lol

2.5" all the way should be good enough. dont bother going from 2.5 to 2 x 1.5.

I see that as a hassle and waste of time/money.

the thing is that i need to, thats why i'm asking if it will work just as good, because the farther to the back i move up the more the pipe will come down to clear the gas tank, so i have to have smaller piping and also once it clears the gas tank there is gonna be a split to dual exhaust, just someone tell me if it will be good or not.
