exhaust problem.... honda CRX turbo

when a car is turbo converted the downpipe obvioulsy has a different flange from the standard one meaning the pipe does not have the flexi connector, has this caused any problems for anyone? i.e. cracked exhaust, downpipe or turbo housing? any comments would be helpful as im wondering what to do about joining my downpipe to the rest of my exhaust. I was going to use a steel braided washer but something tells me this wont be enough when spanking the crap out of my motor... ;D
thanks

um, save that part of the pipe and weld it to the downpipe you have made, or just cut off the flange and weld it to your downpipe.
