So, me and my gf are going to the mall last night, and pulling into the mall, on this long straight street that least to it, I see a Yellow Evolution. I didn't think it was an evo when it passed me so I caught him and asked my gf to look for evolution on the back. Sure enough, it wasn't a fake lancer. So, I make sure i'm next to him and we line up at the red light. I start to rev at him and he looks over and laugh. I continue (and burn a little clutch to load up the turbo so i can blow off) and he smiles. Next thing i hear is him countering my rev with a nice 5-second bouncing off the rev-limter rev. (new car buddy go easy on her eh!?) but, nonethe less, he was go. So i'm ready and he's ready and the light turns green, and my ------- god I've never seen a car launch so hard. My tires started spinning a little, and he got like 2038432084 car lengths on me before I ever caught any traction. That car was rediculously sick fast and I had my d16z6-t *** handed to me on a silver platter. I didn't even bother with second gear b/c he was so ------- far ahead it was worthless. So, I followed him into the mall lot and he waited for me at a stop sign. I complemented his beautiful car, and told him that I was rather embarrased. Nice guy, fun night. Moral of the story: Don't line up anything short of a vette or a really really fast somthing else next to an evo. That ------- thing moves. I had to share

dude, there are so many evo's on the road around here, i feel like i'm in japan. everyone is getting them, i've already seen one totalled out at my buddies import shop, he said the guy that totalled it wants a 98 gsr now?? i think he's in for a big dissappointment after driving the evo......

Yeah I couldn't agree more. I was drooling after seeing how hard that ------- thing took off. It's unbeleiveable. And only to think, as far as that goes, the sti and ---- are even faster. My lord. Much respect for the all the new AWD / turbo cars coming out. :::bows:::

Yeah but its not easy to launch an awd car my dad has a vr4 3000gt and there is a very very small sweetspot to get the perfect launch otherwise it bogs or you break somthin

There was a red GSX eclipse with 400+hp and almost no tranny mods, and about every month an axle or driveshaft would explode onto the track.... that thing snapped its axles like toothpicks...

i have a 92 awd talon, and launching is where the awd's shine no doubt. it was a pain in the *** to learn how to launch and u cannot drop the clutch at 5k or u gonna break something. in my case it was the transfer case. anything under 5k ur car will bog like crazy but if u learn to slip it a little then gun it when u feel the car roll u better be ready to shift into 2nd. but if u are racing from a roll awds have a pretty big disadvantage next to fwd's.
