vtec is cool and all but i like my d16a6 the way it is with no vtec. to me i just see more problems in the long run. plus if you want to get parts its kinda hard to tell someone what engine you have....

My minime was a blast. z6 head, rebuilt with new seals, crower valtrain, and a comp cam. On my 16 block, swapped to obd1, that thing was a beast, good for high 14's easily, i jsut couldnt get a launch down. The cam made a big difference though, cause right now im riding around in a d16z6 crx, a tad bit lower compression, with a stock cam and obd1, and its just not there like mine was. I also had an 8lb flywheel in teh other one. If i would have gotten the stage 2 cam, i could have easily beat most of teh b16 crx's around here, but i did keep up with with buddy's, with my setup.

As for costs, jsut throwing the head on there is cheap, and it can be ran with a feilds or vafc, but i chose to go obd1 to lose the headaches of tuning, cost me around 400 for the obd1 swap. 150 for the head, and about 250 in machine shop work to rebuild it. But there really wasnt much need to rebuild it and replace all teh seals, but i jsut felt liek it. Just remember to remove the oil jet in the center of the block so vtec will activate.

Total cost for my setup, around a grand, maybe a hair more, but thats not including the flywheel and clutch.
