Most farms here are planted with feed corn for the cattle that also are everywhere here. There's not too much soybean and not much crop corn.
Small farms have been crowded out by the big megafarms for years because the megafarms can slash prices and small time farmers can't compete with that. With prices going up it gives small farmers more flexibility with pricing, at least for a while.

Interesting, tman. I have one idea to fix the injector problems and the glow plug problem. It sounds to me like the alcohol is cooling the cylinder too much, what if compression were boosted even further to increase the heat, say to something rididulous like 40:1. Has this been tried? The larger HC and CO emissions tells me a lot of fuel is being dumped/unburnt. My solution would be to experiment with leaning and the really high compression to try to get a more complete burn. It just seems like they tried to use what already was there for diesel and with minor mods tried to get ethanol to run.
