Engine + Water=Im fucked
Florida had one of its typical monsoons yesterday and the roads were covered with about 6 inches of water in most places. I was lucky enough to find a spot in the road that decide to wash out making the water about 2.5 feet deep. As soon as the front of the car hit the water so did the air filter. To make a long story short engines dead as of now i no longer have a job cuase i delivered pizzas. I dont know what im going to do I might have everything for sale in a couple days depends on how pissed i still am and what i decide to do whether it be a new car or a new swap

Re:Engine + Water=Im fucked
It happened to me, im in Orlando, and it worked for me a few years ago, I turned off the car as soon as it happened and tried to crank it again, nothing would move, I was like crap, then I did that water came out, I bought new plugs, and the car ran perfectly fine until I traded it in for the WRX. It might work, let us know.

Re:Engine + Water=Im fucked
hahah,
road's close pizzaboy, find a new way home |
Re:Engine + Water=Im fucked
drain the water and you might be fine. We did this in my buddy's Supra. We drained out like 10 gallons of water and it runs fine. We also flooded out a Jeep, however that caused 2 rods to snap and the heads to warp.
|
Re:Engine + Water=Im fucked
my brothers d16z6 met its end in a deep puddle. threw #2 rod through the front and back of the block destroying the girdle and half of the oilpan with it.
(i guess technically it didnt throw the rod through the block, but snapped it in half and then swung it through the block..) |
Re:Engine + Water=Im fucked
Shes done
head is warped, Valve cover is cracked and the top of the #3 cylinder broke off and welded itself into the piston im sure theres more but we quit cause the neighbors were getting pissed and there wasnt any point Were dropping a 200,000 mile d16y7 in today so i can work tommorrow It smokes like a son of a bitch but ill be able to work until i get a replacement sometime with in the next month. |

Re:Engine + Water=Im fucked
well according to aem their bypass valves are for major water submersion where the filter experience major pressure drop so ur wrong i think it would work for little water unless there was a major pressure drop
