engine detergents/cleaners?!

where is the topic that was talking about engine cleaners that take a while to clean up? like sea foam, but you do it over a 3000 mile period instead of 10?

Re: where is it?!

No clue. Why don't you change the topic name to engine cleaners/degreasers? Seems you'd draw the people you are looking for instead of drawing assholes who make smart comments and generally harrass anyone with a low post count.

Have you posted porn yet, n00b?

god damn id ---- that, go to jail, go to court convince everyone she told me she was 17, get aquitted, hold it down by the hair and start the process all over again

I <3 seafoam.
great ----.

I do it every oil change when I have a bottle. Put it in the day of / day before. Keeps my ---- sparkly fresh on the inside. Your bearings and valvetrain will love you for it too. btw, that's with the oil change, not down the intake. it goes down the intake about every 6 months. i tend to run a 32oz spray bottle of water through my intakes that don't run WI anyway. Does about the same thing for free.

this is the motor from my tercel, nothing special except Valvoline durablend (50% synthetic) changed every 3k
synthetic cleans and suspends a lot more soot/crap then regular oil

bg 44k and moa are worth it imho, you get what you pay for and this ---- is used by garages for a reason at customer request

Re: engine detergents/cleaners?!

whats up man..i dont know where the post is your wanting. so sorry no answer for your post but i used to work at a Valvoline. and people would come in and want us to run transmission fluid in their motor before we did the oil change. i guess it works as a cleaner or something also. but i have never tried it and probably never will in my car. :-\

Re: engine detergents/cleaners?!

damn i guess i missed out! eh i do the seafoam every once in a while, but just wanted something that would do long term treatment instead of a short harsh burst of harsh additives u know? :P

Quote = myself
This is a 1996 5s-fe Toyota Camry with 114,000 miles. This is after ONE treatement done in the manner I outlined in my previous post. (I.E. following the directions on the can) On old oil right before changing it.
This engine spent about the first 100,000 miles of it's life running cheapy oils. The last 14,000 miles run on synthetic.

Use to have pics of it cleaning inside a set of heads, lower & uppder intake manifolds somewhere on my pb. Lost over the years I guess...

Anyway. Seafoam owns anything you can throw at it. Seafoam = results. All these other bullshit thigns you see out there either don't do what they claim, or do it so slowly you can not provide and visual conclusive proof it did anything until you dropped $500 on the ----.

Re: engine detergents/cleaners?!

HOLY ------- CHEETOS! :o so i guess seafoam is what im sticking to! i like the smoke anyways! :6 :8

Toysrme 02-13-2009 03:36 PM

Re: engine detergents/cleaners?!

List of things seafoam will smoke:
auto rx
Z-max
BG 44
MOA
Lucas
slick 50
STP
RohMax

ls400 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=conX6i8YyN0

my favorite is auto rx tho. that ---- use to be everywhere. i single handidly purged that ---- from any relevant toyota forum years back. that bullshit wont do in 12 months of their "sludge application" regimin what you can do in 5 minutes with seafoam. God forbid you drive around 10 minutes or an entire oil change with it.

ive been using seafoam for years with great results. My mpg went up, car idles smother, starts easier, even the injectors are a little quieter after i ran it through the gas tank.

love the stuff best "fix it in a can" products ive ever used.

love the stuff best "fix it in a can" products ive ever used. also eats seals! a major plus to puking out your vital fluids. use more seafoam

t_cel_t 02-13-2009 10:44 PM

Re: engine detergents/cleaners?!

doesnt eat seals, it just eats the sludge from around the seals. and how many seals are there on an engine, crank front and back and valve cover, all that ---- takes like 30 min to replace.

Re: engine detergents/cleaners?!

You have good choice in women. Seafoam is excellent. There's three places you should throw it, oil, gas tank, and the brake booster. When your changing the oil leave it uncapped at the bottom and throw some fresh oil in it, some extra ---- should come out nicely.

There is a few ways to doing it, I have a few other styles but you get the hint.

There's enough room under a Civic for more than one guy? :1

84-87 models I could do a clutch and rear main in an hour forty-five with no air tools or a lift, but the later cars are a little different.

Re: engine detergents/cleaners?!

damn. lol we use to quote 6-8 hours to change the RMS on transverse v6 cars when i was doing it every day.
hate doing that ---- on toyota's. up goes the car, down comes the engine & tranny & half the steering ---- just to get it out of the way, off with the tranny :S :S :S
then five minutes tops to change dumb ass the seal ::)
