Just because its a bigger engine doesnt necesarrily mean it pollutes more......its all in the maitenance/condition. In school we did emmissions tests on everones cars (mostly average 4 cyls) and one of the cleanest ones was this old recneck *** chevy truck with a 454.....no cats/emmissions anything.

WTF ARE YOU TALKIN ABOUT. There is NO SORT of emission tests done here. I have never had to have a car tested and I only live about 30 minutes from you?

You people don't realize that emission laws are the same for v8's and 4 cylinders. So technically, v8's have to run cleaner than 4cylinders (litre per litre) just to meet the average requirement. Also, where are you getting that "it's another way for the state to make money"? Emissions places are owned and operated by private businessmen/women. The state isn't pocketing any of the profits.

Yeah they might be owned privatley but who gets all the money for them to get certified and the fees every year for them to stay certified

This is a stupid subject and if it wasnt a girl you guys wouldnt have even care.Dont you live far up in wisconsin anyways? Anywhere out of milwaukee and madison dont have to worre about emissions. But if you do just file that ---- upnorth and why are you doing a paper on this stuff?
