emission testing

Default emission testing

I live in idaho and im required to have emission testing done every year. any ideas on how to get around it ?

Find a backwoods, redneck shop that doesn't care and will pass you for a few bucks.

depends on what all they check? what year is your car?

well its 1997 so its OBD ll but i have an OBD l ecu, and i think that they only check for emissions. what else can they check for ?

they will plug up under the hood, so you will need to put your OBDII ecu back in. They may do a visual inspection as well, or atleast thats how it is here.

well if its anything like it is here in colorado, they just check if you have a cat converter, and 02 sensor, and that you have a gas cap, a fuel inlet restrictor, and that the check engine light is not on, then it has to pass the tail pipe smog test, but they dont give a damn about mods, and any boosted car with a chipped ecu, as long as its tuned decently, and has 02 feed back in vaccum, and has a cat converter on it, then it should pass the smog test, you just have to make sure its warmed up really well, get the exhaust hot as ----, like highway driving then have it tested, or you could try to find someone like me that will just pass it if you give me $50
