The Elzinga Family fund-raiser

Its come to my attention that Jordan Elzinga's (shaved_civic) family has not had a buyer on his car. They were hoping the sale of his car would help pay off the loan he took out for this car. That hasn't happened as of yet, so I started a fund-raising thread for his family. Show some love. -Steve

yeah, i was going to suggest this when his dad was first trying to sell the car, but i didn't think enough people would help to make a difference, let's hope i was wrong.

Re:The Elzinga Family fund-raiser

The car is a seperate deal. The car is posted here, but there hasn't been any buyers just yet. Meanwhile, the loan still has to be paid. That's where HMT can make a difference. Show the family just how much of a difference we can make. -Steve

Re:The Elzinga Family fund-raiser

at his Dad's request, I posted his car up on about 10 local boards.

I've gotten about 32390483984 emails today regarding purchasing it, and even more people interested in donating for the cause. People on Hondatech and some of my friends at UW are just throwing money in the pot becuase they want to.

I would email Roelof roelofone@msn.com or call him, 253-347-0696 if you have a good idea, paypal, money order, or anything for them.

Thanks Stealth, for stickying this.

No problem. I'm glad that those of us that have helped have, but I still see that we are reaching the 4000 member mark, and I'm wondering where all those people are. This is as good of a chance as ever to make "what goes around come around". Create some good karma for yourselves. -Steve

Re:The Elzinga Family fund-raiser

...here goes,i never gave much thought to donating until i saw stealths link to the topic, and i read it and i thought to my self,am i really going to miss a dollar or 50 cents even? funerals are expensive& his parents had to miss work. if anyone has ever had a friend dye young or lost a parent,or a loved one then u know what they are going threw. ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS THIS TOPIC SHOULD BE 100 PAGES LONG FROM PEOPLE THAT HAVE DONATED(funerals are outrageous!!!)even if its 50 cents. but dont let anyone presure u into it it has to come from the heart. b/c u want to do it

Re:The Elzinga Family fund-raiser

Well we found the car it was in Gig arbor. I have never seen a car stripped like that. Nothing was left on it. The only thing that they could not get to was the tires, because Jordan had special locks on them.
Only the shell was left over. It was a terrible sight for me to see his car like that.
If anybody see some parts please let me know.

most likely by now thiose parts are long gone

Re:The Elzinga Family fund-raiser

I'm broke, but I wanna send some cash. Does anyone know if Jordan's dad's payapl account takes credit cards? All the money I really have right now is in those little plastics. But if its checking funds only, that's fine, cause I know that paypal takes a little if you area preimer member. If not a preimer member I'll just go to the local atm and withdraw some and send that to him.

So if anyone know please let me/us know.

Thanks,
-Murdoc

Re:The Elzinga Family fund-raiser

Murdoc, I think there's a way to send credit cards through paypal. Not 100% sure because I don't pay that much attention. If you can't get it to work, just donate when you can. Thanks. ;)

airtonics 01-28-2004 08:55 AM

Re:The Elzinga Family fund-raiser

It will accept credit cards, the only reason some people dont is because of the fee's that they pull out for using them.

So if you send it he will get the majority of the money just not all of it.
