Electric SuperCharged My Rc Car (Pics)*Now with videos*

So i came across a micro switch in my garage early in the evening tonight and got a few creative ideas from myself and a friend.

Here is the car i started out with, Duratrax Evader Bx Nitro Buggy DTX .18 O.S. engine

It starts off with your everyday hair dryer, funny though that its name is Micro Turbo 1200 ;)

A picture of the little motor that will be pushing all of the air

The micro switch that will engage the fan at around 50-55% throttle so that it will still idle properly

A 6 Cell battery that will be providing all of the power

The blow dryer fan and its case all chopped up and ready to go

Here it all is pretty much in final stages of mock up

A little closer view of how the servo will engage the micro switch

A quick video of the micro switch engaging, the fan spooling up and pushing air through the charge pipes into the carb
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...EzZGZkMzF5NTQx

A video of it in action will come tomorrow after work and in the light of day.

*EDIT* Parts list
1 Arrow Head Water Bottle
1 Adjustable Hose Clamp
1 6" long 3/4 hose
1 micro switch
1 stock air filter tube
1 Hair dryer
1 6 cell rechargable battery
Some wire, duct tape, crimps, and 8 sparks to keep me and my homie from getting bored ;)

So far i have to remount the micro switch but during a few test runs the car is by far creating more mid range torque then previous. Before the supercharger, my car with full throttle and perfect traction would create only enough power to wheelie off the line and now it will do it at a 15mph+ roll.
Here are some vids although short

A quick 3-4 foot wheelie

A pretty good idea of what the supercharger sounds like when engaged

Ill get some much better videos either tomorrow or after i get off work tonight, had to take these videos while i was on my lunch break :-\

One thing i still have left to do is re-zip tie down the fan and find a place to mount the battery(s)

does that fan even manage to make any sort of pressure?

I used to be sponsored by a local hobby shop for touring cars back when i was 14-16 electric associated tc3 and hpi gas..

Too bad that wont work righ tho because it will stop fuel from going into the carb (its a draw system.) but it will be interesting.

add a vacuum line after the fan through a check valve and into the fuel tank, and add a check valve on the line from the exhaust to the fuel tank.

That should eq1ualize the carb pressure and make sure it keeps getting fuel under boost.
