Default electric car does 0-60 in 3.7 seconds

There is an electric sports car named the "Tzero" That can reach 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. The car has 220 HP and is street legal. There is a story on the N.Y Times (its free) and it can be found here: http://www.nytimes.com/2003/09/19/au...es/19ELEC.html

Jesus man, I want to see this damn car, but I don't want to sign over my first born child to access the site. Well, maybe I do, but still they want a lot of damn info from me just to take a look around. I'm not down for giving out my email address anymore. Spam owns me.

Wow. 6800 lithium ion laptop batteries power that thing. That's an *** load of batteries. I'm not too impressed with the charging method though. It runs off 220v and it costs as much to run as a car that gets 30mpg. It might be cleaner and everything, but you still use the same amount of gas to power it basicaly since you have to plug the bitch in to a 220v outlet for 3 hours. I guess it would be worth it to smoke a Ferarri with your laptop powered G-ride.

0-60 in 3.7 seconds, and from 100% charge to 0% charge in 4 seconds flat... I hate whole idea of an electric car, today's batteries are just too much crap, too expensive, waste a lot of power when charging, last short and take hours to charge.

the whole concept of "greener cars" is bogus for electric cars.. guess where the power actually comes from? thats right, the nuclear plant.. much better

i'd say hydrogen powered cars is the wave of the future.
