Well, gee. Maybe every car should come from the factory with a Nascar spec cage. :1

It is a shitty deal, but it is an unfortunate rixk of driving. I hope I never get t-boned like that. :l

the civic was attatched to a cable...that held it in place instead of letting it take the hit and fly out of the way.

It's no mystery that I'm going to get fucked if I get in an accident in my hatch. That's a given.

That's why I drive so defensively, and why I installed a loud ass horn.

Other than that there's not much you can do.

us spec hondas have a beam in the doors, Euro specs dont, US spec have a bumper support under the bumper, euro spec don't. US spec has air bags, some EU spec only have a driver side one or none. not saying a civic is safe, I am just saying they arent that unsafe.

do you honestly think that thin aluminum tubing thats hollow and an inch round is gonna do anything beside getting lodged into your side?? i just put a si door on a coupe they have them as well and are a joke and just as unsafe, id rather wear my dirtbike helmet then trust that ----. :8

Iv seen crashes where a 90 civic hatch got hit from behind at 50 from a f150 and it punted the civic into the intersection. One of the cars going the oppisite way carshed into a poll to miss the civic.
Civic=fucked but driver was fine
F150=fixable driver was fine
rodeo hit the poll=fucked with driver had major injures.

Heres what happens to a nissan altima, going 15 mph and running into the back of a Ford F350.

05-31-06: Tanked the ass end of a brand new Ford F-350. The truck was on its way from one dealership to another. The only damage to his truck was a scuff on the bumper, and his hitch was pushed in a lil bit. The altima didnt fare too well...

I don't tailgate or have a cellphone. I was extreamly ------- drowsy and picking someone up from work who has a suspended dl. Some blazer broke down in the middle of the road, I was behind a large truck I couldn't see infront of, guy in truck stoped late, I stoped even later.

I'm a good driver when i can stay alert, but I get lost in thought driving and have a real problem with zoning out.
