Re:ECU location on 5g civic
passenger kick panal, similar to 4g civics, but its on the right hand side. just pull the carpet back and you will be able to spot it.

Alright, I will look again, but when I pulled the carpet back, there was a black padding thing. Is it underneath that.

Re:ECU location on 5g civic
Ok guys, I feel like a real dipshit for having to ask this, but I am stuck. Where the ---- is the blinking light on the ecu in a 5g civic??? I can't find one anywhere.

Re:ECU location on 5g civic
haha theres no blinking light on eg's... only on ef's
you check the ecu code by jumpering the service connector next to the ecu and watching the CEL blink |
Re:ECU location on 5g civic
could you elaborate on that???

Re:ECU location on 5g civic
wait, I think I figured it out, I did a search on HT, and it said there is a plug with 2 wires hanging down behing the center consel and you have to short the wires. Im gonna try it.

http://www.hondata.com/techecucodes.html http://www.c-speedracing.com/faq/05.php http://www.c-speedracing.com/faq/02.php http://www.c-speedracing.com/faq/06.php all you need to know is that theres a small connector above the ecu that has 2 pins. stick a paper clip in the 2 pins to jumper it then sit in the drivers seat put the key in and turn it to the on position. the checl engine light will flash with any codes that are present. short flashes are 1-9 and long flashes are 10 20 30 ect so axample you have 2 codes 1 code 17 VSS (maybe your vss plug is inhooked) and 1 code 61 o2 sensor it will flash a long 1 indicating 10 then short pause then seven short flashes indicating 7 so 17 then a long pause then 6 long flashes indicating 60 and 1 short flash indicating 1 when your done reset the ecu to clear codes |
