I have the chance to get a beautiful 97 mitshu eclipse gsx (awd turbo) the down side is it's an auto , does anyone here have a eclipse? how hard would it be to change the trannys ? I'v done it on a neon but this a whole diffrent beast ...

just to do a clutch in a awd dsm(my old talon) the book time was like 12h

Call up Shep racing and see what they can do for you. I just drove a 2g on Friday with Shep tranny and a 16g at 23 pounds. It went pretty good.

kep the car as a nice beater, just dont beat on it and it will be a good car for u

As long as you like spending 3k on a tranny evey 2 years. The only experiences i've had with dsm's were horrible. Sure they ripped like ears in a mike tyson match, but seriously they were parked more than they were driven because they were complete piles.

The cost of having a built auto isn't far off from a built 5spd so thats an option. But if its not what you want, don't buy it.
