Eclipse GST

My friend works at a car lot and they have a gst 99 leather 58000 miles in very nice condition he wants to sell me. I was wondering is the gst worth getting or is the gsx way better. I know there is good aftermarket support but w/o all wheel drive will it be hard to get the power to the ground? Id like to hear what you guys think. Thanks!

Well IMO, that is one of the most important factors about DSMS is that they have that AWD advantage. Great for launching, especially on street... even when wet! I belive the DSM's do have drivetrain problems when getting into the serious HP levels with a AWD system, but For the basics you should be fine. My friend Brett has a GST (TSI) Talon FWD Turbo and just like a honda it has incredible torque steer. I high recommend getting a LSD type device if you get the GST.

also like abaz said....with the AWD versions in DSM cars.....ive read and heard that once gettin into serious drag type situations....they break.....so depends on what you have planned for the car. either way its a farely kool car.

If it's a matter of checking out the pro's and con's, you should probably start off at dsm.org, back when I almost bought a GSX that site warned me about certain issues with each type... thank god for it, the GSX was a bomb, damn transfer cases.

Hmm I dont mean to be an ass but I am so anti dsm its not even funny. I hate the way they look, sound, and most of the ppl who drive em. they think they are like the baddest car on the road. Ive seen a total of 3 that were actually fast and not one had a tranny that didnt go every now and then. BTW the gst awd is pretty ------ rare and well over priced check out your local autotrader.

Just becarful, the Qr25 is a great motor, and in the future we should see some great products for it..

Jeff
