Depends on what your struts are, I've seen cheapy ass coilovers on civics with blown struts be more bouncy then cut springs, and then I've also seen them on tokiko 5ways, and you would never know they were cheapy ass springs.

stock shocks get wear spots in them and when you lower the car it releases the gas throught the wear spots. at least thats what i have been told . that why i bout AGX shocks to go with my crappy springs. lol :6

OEM are oil not gas IIRC.

The whole idea behind upgrading your struts is to have a strut that can handle the higher spring rate of aftermarket springs. Stock struts have weaker dampening forces, and that's why they blow when used with harder springs especially the ebay coilover springs, which tend to be pretty damn hard from what I hear. If you have a strut that can dampen those bitches then they probably will work decent. You'll just have a hard ride.
