the amps look good but I would never buy a alt from somone who say it runs 12v

Re: ebay alternators

Go to a shop that rebuilds starters, alts and ---- I got a 100amp for like $70 rebuilt

Note the higher amp output comes with more drag when med to full load. Mazda pick up with a 200amp alt couldnt get on the freeway with a med load

He didn't say it outputs 12 volts, "12 volt" means that it's for a 12 volt electrical system.

Exactly how many subwoofers and electric chop saws are you running off your stock alternator for it not to be cutting it for you??

Re: ebay alternators

my car had the same problem, I run 3 large amps, undercar kit, inside neons and a bunch of gauges. Just add a extra batt or get a reg alt. the only part that should be killing you is the hard hit from the amps and thats what caps are for.

Well, it's like this. He's a ------- french-canadian, so it comes as no surprise he loves bondo and the sound of rattling gas tanks, but he's awful nice for a french-canadian so you kinda feel bad for hating on him too much.

my alternator is charging at 13.5- 13.8 volts at full loads it drops to 12.5, not what it should be. I bought a couple of used ones from hmt guys and ebay they came seized no worky.

yes I run a system no shame in my game. 2 amps and 2 subs dvc. plus the law requires us to have our light on always, plus it winter so heat on always, bought new battery run it in car, and still need to jump it everyday. power windows, locks, and alarm system.

so what I like good music at high volume with heavy hitting bass? as long as it come out on race day, and I still haul ass in the streets.

Re: ebay alternators

You have bad grounds. Load the electrical system up for a couple minutes so it gets nice and hot, and run your hands up and down the ground straps and feel for where the alternator's ground path has failled.

Halfassed ground straps and high loads are a lot of fun. If and when the last strap making halfassed connection corrodes enough, the engine seeks ground through the speedo cable causing it to catch on fire and melt. Good times.

after this issue started I installed all new ground wires, it never fix the problem, I even installed a new engine harness. I've put grond straps in places where it seemed stupid
