Early bird gets the worm

Saw an ad on craigslist on friday for an estate sale that mentioned tools an a chopsaw were going to be there. I've been pretty broke so I've put off getting one. Anywho, despite drinking way too much sake last night I got up at 7:30 and got there just as the doors were opening. Took a good 5-10 minutes to find it and just as I spotted it someone else was starting to check it out too. ARGH. But luck was in my favor and he started looking at something else. Long story short, I got a lightly used Makita 14" chop saw for $65.

For my past 4 HMT setups, I've used anything from a hacksaw to more recently a sawzall. Always sucked cuz there was always at least a little gap, plus trying to make whitey bends with a reciprocating saw kinda sucks.

Can't wait to get enough $ saved up so I can put this beast to some good use. >:D

Nice find. I've always used a 7'' Craftsman Chop Saw with an abrasive blade. Got it on sale at sears for $60 Seems to do the job good. :)

Haha, same here. The entire time I was thinking "Is this a good idea and am I going to regret this in a few seconds?" :1

C-clamp your pipe to a table or put it in a vise one

My garage has never been a "workshop". I just work with what I have. :8
