Dyno'd the Ls/Vtec today...

Well I figured since I would be making another 1/4 mile pass at the next event at (pacific raceways) I should probably dyno tune the car just to make sure everything was ok at higher boost levels.

https://www.homemadeturbo.com/ride/89si2/dyno2.jpg

Started off making 238 to the wheels on the first run, and found out the car was running extremely rich, 10.0's A/F all the way past 5000rpms, after doing a bit of tuning, and getting the A/F to a more relistic level, the car was making decent power. Boost was bouncing from 11-12psi & holding a decent 12.0 to 12.7 a/f

Overall I ended up with 263.5hp & 201tq, The red line shows my base run back when the car was NA (167hp) that wasnt the best one, I have no idea why he posted that one.. But it was 174hp the best NA. Maybe it was just to compare...

So roughly this engine is around 310HP at the Crank, I'm happy and its pretty much what I expected. I could probably tuned a bit more, and work with the cam timing, but thats another day :)

The low speed cams on the GRS's look like they make some good torque. 263 should get you some sweet peg legs :)

Re:Dyno'd the Ls/Vtec today...

shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh we dont talk about the peg leg..... I'm very sensitive about that, since I get smashed at street racing, ahhh shiet >:(

A pirate walks into a bar with a steering-wheel on his crotch.

The bartender says, "what's with the steering wheel on your crotch?"

The pirate replied, "Aaaargh, it's driving me nuts!"

that is good hp and tq is that on stock internal? if so is that stock ls piston and rods or vtec piston and rods. that is what i hope of pushing out. also you are running 11-12 psi. nice numbers and setup

Well i was gonna start a post to congradulate you on your Dyno numbers but since you started one ill just say nice numbers man. Makes me want to go out and buy a crx and screw turboing my currrnt car. Man 263 in a 2100ilb car that is nutz. Based on your power to weight ratio you technically on a perfect run could break well into the 11's!!!!

Re:Dyno'd the Ls/Vtec today...

and are they the orginial one since you do the swap no problems can they hold it hp

Re:Dyno'd the Ls/Vtec today...

axles don't break because of high HP alone, they would break because of hard launches and maybe with that much hp on hard 1-2, 2-3 shifts.

Re:Dyno'd the Ls/Vtec today...

you can always go to www.driveshaftshop.com and pay 600 bucks for a set of axles, or you can go to advanced auto parts and pay 69 dollars a piece and have a life time warranty ;D i change mine like one a month just because it's free ;)

Re:Dyno'd the Ls/Vtec today...

another company that makes stronger then stock axles is Raxles. They make axles the perfect length to fit our ef bseries swaps so we don't have to remove the dust seal.

Re:Dyno'd the Ls/Vtec today...

GSR axles are perfect length, it really matters what Intermediate shaft you use. I couldnt use "Raxles" in my car unless I had the SIR intermediate shaft.

Re:Dyno'd the Ls/Vtec today...

i believe my "shaft" is just the right length also!

Re:Dyno'd the Ls/Vtec today...

does the s1 tranny accept the gsr axles or is that a sir axles. also i got satge 1 axles from driveshaft.com b/c they are 25mins away i don't want to spend 600 on axles.

HMT-Admin 04-25-2003 10:22 PM

Re:Dyno'd the Ls/Vtec today...

all the B-series axles can pretty much work with any b-series tranny, it just all depends on the intermediate shaft you use.

All this info is at hasport.com
