Dyno'd Crvtec Today

Today I finally had time to dyno my car, yesterday it sat at the track like a little bitch in the corner that stored coolers & food. ::)

https://www.homemadeturbo.com/drag/june18/crxpit.jpg

sad sad....

https://www.homemadeturbo.com/turbo/b20/b20dyno.jpg

As expected, I hit my goal, a tad over 300whp. 306whp / 228tq running 12psi on pump gas.

It took 18 passes on the dyno to get this fucker tuned, Nick lopez helped me out working with my fuel map, it took almost 15% more fuel than the LS/vtec map I had made. I'm a bit worried my dsm injectors are about out of juice ;)

Overall, I'm really happy, the car ------- rips incredibly hard. Traction... well there is none. The lag of the .63 housing is nice, but I still need a bigger compressor IMO. The spark map is very friendly, so not worried about detonation, also installed my walbro 255 back in.

I dont think I'm gonna drag this car again, maybe.. My goals are almost done 12sec/300whp daily driver, and a 10sec/400hp race car.

Jeff

18 runs? Good lord. :o At least it is all tuned in now. You need to make at least one pass to see if it can actually run a 12 :P.

Re:Dyno'd Crvtec Today

I don't see the difference between the ls and crv tech numbers.
What rpm does that .63 kick in at?
Overall, I like. :)

Re:Dyno'd Crvtec Today

You dont see the difference?

lets take a closer look... ;D

https://www.homemadeturbo.com/turbo/b20/b20dyno.jpg
306whp / 228tq (12psi) B20 .63ar

https://www.homemadeturbo.com/ride/89si2/dyno.jpg
263whp / 201tq (12psi) B18 .48ar

The turbo definatly takes a tad longer to spool, but I think I could use a new compressor.

Jeff

Re:Dyno'd Crvtec Today

What about the hp vs. costs difference of an ls block and the crv? I thought the crv blocks were expensive these days. Just wondering

Re:Dyno'd Crvtec Today

hehe, its fun having that much hp isnt it :) now you just need a little more torque....

looks good man, put some race gas in and run it..

Is there a difference on the motor if you drag the car at the track compared to at the street races?!?!?! It's the same 1/4 mile isn't it??? I'm confused!!!! :P lol

Time for nitrous?

Re:Dyno'd Crvtec Today

ok so you made 268 with a 1.8
and 306 with a 1.97 (b20 is not a true 2.0l for those that dont know)

this is my plan true 2.0l b16a by bore, because the rod/stroke ratio and the short stroke I think myght serve well on a 2.0 litre block. which may make more than 300whp.

but hey I am a stupid ass so I could be wrong.

but for instance my friend thang who owns a local shop over here has his 9 second b16a powered crx, has his b16 bored to 2.0l (85mm on a b16a) and he made over 650 hp on the first run. the only reason that he has only ran a 9 is because he has stupid little problems with the car.

ok I go

Thats like saying a GSR isnt a true 1.8L who the ---- cares?

I thought you were banned pizza boy..

Re:Dyno'd Crvtec Today

and a d16 isnt 1.6, its actually 1595 ;) (or about that, I know its LESS then 1600!!)

Either way, Jeff, propz, very nice dyno chart, ,I am SOOO jealous ;)

But I think you are right about your injectors. With a .63 it should be climbing still at red line. Time for some 720cc's huh!!

we could never be that lucky. pizza face, shut up, you aint doing ----. you just came on this thread and posted something that you prolly just learned 2 minutes ago, and you impressed yourself, but we don't care. oh yeah, mad props on the crvtec jeff, those are impressive numbers, did you put you lsd in there, or do you not have it yet?

1.97 IS 2 liters. .03 doesn't matter

I'm assuming you wre running open exhaust straight from the downpipe. Good numbers.

Not much

Re:Dyno'd Crvtec Today

Full 3in exhaust was used at the dyno.

and 77mm bore is about as large as you can go on a D-series, But its really pushing it.
