Dyno...meh

A little disappointing but...well screw it

Keep in mind it was like 100 degrees in there. I know...excuses.

Nice torque... what are you tuning with?

idiot-stick 09-01-2005 07:30 PM

Re: Dyno...meh

E-manage duing fuel only. I got some funky electrtical gremlins that i need to figgur out then I'm gonna hook up a MAP and tune against it rather than TPS.

------ awesome jess haha. i knew i shoulda jus finished the ka-t lol. those are some dope ass numbers for only 13psi. im boosting more then that n i kno im nowhere near that much hp.

Re: Dyno...meh

Why arn't you using the electrical harness for the emanage? Nice numbers man. I bet with some good tires you'll easily be in the low low 13's high 12's

what size turbo is that?

Re: Dyno...meh

t3/t4 60-1

alpalwal 09-01-2005 07:58 PM

Re: Dyno...meh

so how much more were you expecting? at 13 psi those aren't bad numbers.. just crank the boost up and you'll be good. What's your goal?

built or stock block?

idiot-stick 09-01-2005 08:04 PM

Re: Dyno...meh

Totally stock. I was hoping for 300. Once I get my ---- straight and electrical gremlins fixed I'll go back with moar boost!

what is the weight of your car? you should be high 12s easy with that, with a 2.0 launch

Sweet dyno :)

Amazing how that 60-1 spools under a 2.4.
Im curious as to what your doing for timing control. Im just guessing here, (Im no Nissan ka24 expert either), a 2.4l w/ 13psi of 60-1 love would put it at around 260ish ft/lbs. Im just looking at it purely from a ft/lbs of TQ per psi point of view.
You ever get a chance to play with timing on the dyno just to see how it would respond?

nice man! goes to show you dont need an sr20 like most posers.

Thank you!. The SR20, while a great motor is waaaaayyy overrated. As it stands right now, I think I'm the fastest 240sx in the area and I'm one of a very small few KA's. I dont know if that sentence made much sense but I just woke up.

Weight: I think around 2850?

Timing: 2 degrees base timing retard, 1 step colder plugs. I live dangerously!

a/f at 12.5:1. seems a little on the lean side. maybe you could pull some more power out of it if you could figure out a way to tune ignition.

Re: Dyno...meh

^^^ Dynojet sniffers stuffed in the muffler read about 1.0 A/F leaner than a WB mounted in the DP. I have noticed this first hand on several cars.

I have only noticed about a .4 difference max, when the car is at full throttle and full load. At idle and part throttle it has been off more than that, but I haven't had anything 1 point off. I think the car should be run a little richer. But that is just my opinion.

Gotta love the KA boost though, thinking about doing one myself.

The numbers really aren't bad at all for 13 psi.

I'm gonna have to absolutely agree with dave here, dynojet sniffers 1.0 AFR leaner than a wideband every time.

Re: Dyno...meh

I suppose it depends on the DynoJet you most frequent. My observations are based soly on one local DynoJet, and Im sure it can vary. Either way, tail-pipe sniffers see things a bit leaner.

New best time. Ran a 13.3 @ 108mph last night. Thought I bypassed my speed limiter but guess I was wrong

Beat a couple turbo regals (that was easy)
WRX STI
Supercharged ITR w/Hondata.

O0

I will say that I have seen them read 1.0 afr leaner.. but I have never seen it that much leaner when the motor was under full load. I have definitley seen it more than 1 afr leaner at like a part throttle and idle.

So either way it is no big deal. Still puts him pretty safe. I also have only used one shops dyno, but I will make note when I go to another one in the next month and make a comparison.
