DYI Intercooler spryaers ????

Re:DYI Intercooler spryaers ????
I did it and shaved my hood squiters.. You wait till after you run at the track, then on the way back ( like towards the back of the track after the braking/turn around ) to squirt the ---- out of it ( about 5 seconds while your moving ), then let the car rest for about 15 minutes, then run it again ( your car shouldn't be "circle tracked" away if you want it to last as long as possible ).
I didn't even use mine at the track ( hammer ). You might want to bring a towel, b/c they will kick your *** out the track real fast if you drip ---- on the track.
The biggest problem I'm seen with mine is that the spray pattern is more a "steam" then a "mist"...

There have been stories of backpackers in the middle of the summer getting drenched by a rainstorm, and then the sun comes right out and they die of hypothermia. All the water wicks away the body heat from them and they die.

Re:DYI Intercooler spryaers ????
Its all about heat transfer, and yes a $500 CO2 deal would be better, but not "better spent", $5 or $500....
There is no question of "does it work", more of a "how well it works ", I'd say on a FWD cars, its kinda "ify" But it would really help a car with a SMIC from heat soaking, and the "ice water" idea only makes it better of course, but not a "daily driver" kinda deal...
It would suck to hit the water, then go into a curve and loose control ( happens to me b/c of torque steer anyway, hehe ).
