dvd's not working with windows media player...
So, I received the second season of "The Office" from the wife for Christmas, and thought I'd watch it on my laptop. Threw it in, and no go. So I update the player (wmp11) and give it another shot. It tells me I need a mpeg-2 decoder. I look at the decoders that windows suggest, but wonder if there's any other option than buying the decoder.
I tried installing 2 free decoders (codecs for wmp) and still nothing. I'm really not computer savvy with this stuff... I always figured wmp should come with everything needed to play a dvd :1 . So, if you have something that works for you, let me know, I'll try it. Thanks in advance. 100th post!!! -josh-<------retard w/ computers |

Nearly everything there contains spyware. I guess what I'm asking is, "how did you get your computer to play dvd's?"

Thank you, Buk. I went ahead and downloaded the k-lite codec standard pack, and it works great. Just a few tweaks to get audio volume up, and it's great!
