Re:dumb question but i gotta ask
stop arguing with me, the definition of s sleeper is "something that doesn't appear to be fast, but is"
which is exactly what a supper ricey car is, or a completely stock car. but look at it this way, if you rolled up beside a nice clean CRX, driven by a young guy with maybe and exhaust or if you rolled up beside a totatly riced out crx driven by a young guy with a light up tip, washy leds, ricey hub caps, other random light up things, big decals, WHICH ONE WOULD YOU THINK IS FAST?? |
Re:dumb question but i gotta ask
I've always said as soon as my car runs 10's I'm going to put the biggest aluminum spoiler I can find on it, about 300 APC stickers on it and as many neon lights as possible. I'll never pop the hood and tell everyone it runs 10's.
My car's nickname: The moneymaker. ;) A sleeper is something that appears slow but is actually fast and in my book there's nothing slower than a ricer. Sure there's a more tasteful way to build a sleeper but the name of the game is element of suprise |

I would becuase I know it would help me to make money. If I pulled up next to you with a car that looked like a Pep Boys advertisement and you were in a "Honda-Tech" style car that runs low 12's and I said I would race you for $50, you would think it would be easy money to take from an overconfident ricer. |
Re:dumb question but i gotta ask
If I was into racing for money, of if there were even people with fast cars to race for money out here, I still wouldn't put a wing on my car or any other stupid ----. Out here, everybody has a wing and neons and ----, so it really wouldn't matter. If I pull up in my stock looking Civic, they'll rev the mother ---- out of their stock ass motors and I'll hand an ass whooping down either way. If I were in a bigger town, then I might consider doing something like that. :-\

I don't know what you guys think, buy my car is pretty sleeper.
https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...threadid=19107 I've got an ls swap going in soon with a much bigger t3/t4 and I'm still keeping the hubcaps. And unlike the pics, in real life you can't really see the intercooler at all. |
Re:dumb question but i gotta ask
Dosen't a big aluminum wing add at least like 10hp! I don't think ricer = sleeper cause it shows you've done some mods to the car. If you want a good example of a sleeper look at a 69 Plymouth Road Runner:
426 Hemi V8 425 bhp @ 5000 rpm, 490 lb-ft @ 4000 rpm 0-60 in 5.3 sec, 1/4 mile in 13.55 sec @ 105mph |

Even though some muscle cars are just gas convertors. In case you don't know what a gas convertor is, its something that converts gas into noise. |
