Drove an SRT-4 the other day...
So I go to my friends house and I see a brand new neon blue SRT-4 with black leather interior sitting there. It was one of her friends cars and he got it a month ago (only has 3,000 miles on it). That was the first one I have ever been in and I actually thought it looked pretty sweet being stock. I got a chance to race him from a dead stop, but I had my all season tires on so it was kinda poinless for me, I would catch up pretty fast, once I finally got traction in 3rd gear. I would have really liked to race him from a dead stop with my drag radials though.
Anyways, we all end up going out to eat at red robin and him and I talked about cars and what not, well when we got back he is like... "you want to take it for a drive?" and I am like... "hell yeah!". So I get in the car and adjust the seat since I am a short bastard. We drive to a nice spot and I start ripping on it, it really felt nothing like my civic at all and it actuall felt a lot slower. The power was almost instant when you hit the gas and it was more like a smooth acceleration instead of a kick in the *** like my turbo civic. I didn't really like the small turbo it had, but I think if you slapped a big fatty turbo on it that thing would rip pretty good. I don't really know much about the SRT-4 or how much power the stock engine can hold, but I am guessing with a few upgrades (turbo being the main one) you could have a really nice looking car that is also pretty fast.

werd still is a neon, but is a pretty damn fast neon. Maybe a flitch or someting or just a really good driver or maybe a typo, but in a magizine I read they were comparing cars (s2k, NEON srt-4, RSX, nsx i think, well a variety) and they put up that the Neon did the quarter in 11.9. I know they are pretty quick out of the box, but is it really that fast?

I test drove one about 3 months ago, and i have to admit, for a $20,000 out of the box turbo car, i was pretty impressed. it handled and braked well (both very important to me) the seats we comfortable, and i thought the power was there. its a very good power plant to start with if you ask me. theres a guy at the track with just the "factory stage 3 upgrade kit" running like 13 something on factory tires.....
im not gonna lie...
i am considering it for my next car.
edit
and everyone is saying, its a neon, but i would drive the neon. i would spend 20K on one. and who gives a ---- if my turbo honda is faster, its not a brand new car. my $.02

Yeah I don't think I would have any problem beating an SRT-4. When we raced I caught up pretty fast, but we had to let off since we ran out of room. The one I raced was brand new and completely stock. The boost goes to 15 psi and kinda tappers down to like 10 psi though, not sure what that's about.
