when i raced my dx at the track, the higher the rpm i dropped at the better the times, cause if you launch low with that crap motor, sure you will get better traction, but you can change the cd and find a good song while waiting for it to enter the power band.

i still say drop the clutch...but i also have about 200bucks into my whole engine and tranny setup so if it breaks its not a huge deal...

Special FX

I say launch 1000 rpm below peak power and rev up to peak while letting the clutch out slow enough so that it doesn't rev below 3000 with minimum tirespin . I am always 1500 away from redline when the clutch is totally hooked in first in a serious race or autocross. I figure second gear, ---- 'em, spin 'em as fast as you can so they'll be good and hot for third.
