Re:Drifting RC's video (kicks ass!)

After watching the video, it looks like one of those "hey, look what I can make the car do when I go around a corner" types of things that would be lame about 5 mins after you discovered it. RC cars are hot as ----, but a race (auto or rc) is just that,,, a race. It's not a style competition.

I still have yet to figure out why people follow drifting after seeing it for the first 5 minutes. :-\

some people must drift in order to deliver tofu to a hotel on a mountain top.

that ---- is pretty bad ass. looks like alot of fun. it also looks like one of those things that would be cool for a while, then something would ---- up on your car, and you loose all interest in it, and then the car goes into your closet and stays there till your mom and dad have a garage sale and you get $15 for it. :P

Re:Drifting RC's video (kicks ass!)

man that was some cool ----!

now all i have to do is figure out how to get MY R/C's to do that..hey Murdoc where you at?

turboDXcoupe 08-31-2004 11:52 AM

Re:Drifting RC's video (kicks ass!)

we use pvc tires....cut them to desired width and mount it on the rim and you will be sliding just like them....it also helps to have locked diffs..

juli0_bustamante 08-31-2004 12:28 PM

Re:Drifting RC's video (kicks ass!)

by locked diffs do you mean JB weld them?????

-------- did this to his R/C ha ha ha

PVC pipe? really?

damm what about the tape trick>? does that also work?

i have an old tamiya that came with a touring OPEL body i forget what chasis it is I tthink Its a TA-02 or something..

the other is a HPI mini RS4 its got a golf body thats beat to ----!

turboDXcoupe 08-31-2004 12:33 PM

Re:Drifting RC's video (kicks ass!)

yeah the tape trick will work but, it will not last long either. your best and cheepest thing to do is buy some ABS pipe the black kind and just cut it down....i drift the hpi pro 2 and tamiya TL-01...but any all wheel drive rc will drift though....

turboDXcoupe 08-31-2004 12:35 PM

Re:Drifting RC's video (kicks ass!)

i might ad if your thinking of getting the yokomo drift kit it is the same exact thing as the associated TC3...it doesnt even come with bearings....and the drift rings and wheels it comes with are total junk...just buy a body from yokomo but not the drifter kit and it wont cost as much..

juli0_bustamante 08-31-2004 12:45 PM

Re:Drifting RC's video (kicks ass!)

yeah ill stick to what i have and upgrade my parts..eventually...im not paying 200+ dollars on another R/c...---- dat!

ill look into the PVC piping when i get off work...i think RenR has Pics of my R/C..ill take some later...

juli0_bustamante 08-31-2004 12:46 PM

Re:Drifting RC's video (kicks ass!)

BTW do you super glue them on or what? the pvc to the wheels??

turboDXcoupe 08-31-2004 12:48 PM

Re:Drifting RC's video (kicks ass!)

no glue needed....just take a bare rim and put the pvc on right on it...its a very snug fit the only way it will shift is if you hit a dip or curb...but i have never glued them on b4

juli0_bustamante 08-31-2004 01:06 PM

Re:Drifting RC's video (kicks ass!)
