My 2cents....

I'm sure that it takes a lot of experience and practice to perform some of those drifting maneuvers. And to build a performance car, and then overdrive it so that it never has a chance to perform (by any normal measure of performance), has to take some special talent.

Given that drifting is something new, and it is very entertaining to watch, and it is being heavilly covered by media, we will prolly be stuck with it for some time. The kids are going to eat it up, just because of the entertainment value (who doesn't like a good burnout!).

Is it a sport? Anything can be a sport. Ice skating, computer gaming, chess, these are all sports because people compete at them. So as long as people compete at drifting, it is a sport, even if we (HMT and those like us) don't respect it and it's "athletes".

Given a choice between watching ice skating and drifting? I'd chose to watch whichever one had the most hot chicks.

Drifting is sweet, it's hella fun, and yes, you can do it in hondas.

I tried once at a drift/track event last summer, I just threw on some old pizza cutter spares (105/75-14) on the rear and when you go into a turn at like 50, and turn hard, the back end drifts just fine, no e-brake necessary. I can't wait until next summer with my 22mm ST Sway bars...

FWD drifts are bad
ive seen some but its not the same.

But why drift>>?? Can't you take a turn properly?
I guess Drifting is gay ;)
