1. Move your passenger seat all the way forward and lock it into position.
2. Buy or make a fan switch that will allow you to run your fans on low to cool the car down between runs.
3. Clean your air filter before going to the track
4. Race gas w/ l/8th tank max or highest premium you can find if 3.4 or smaller pulley
5. Remove floor mats
6. Remove spare tire & holder
7. Remove your driver side headlight
8. Clean extra items out of glove box and take out any loose change in the car
9. Turn on heater w/ temp @90 deg to help cool the engine
10. Turn off radio
11. Air tires down in front 26-28 lbs for street tires, 18 for drag radials, 13-16 for slicks
12. Set rear tires to max PSI rating
13. Turn off traction control
14. Move seat a couple inches forward from normal driving
15. If you have a stock PCM launch in 2nd, hold 2nd til 5900rpm then shift to 3rd
16. Raise hood and ice down SC between runs
17. Keep your hood up while waiting in the staging lanes

If you knew your GM PCM's you'd understand :)

It means put the shifter in second gear and let the puter control the shift. If not it pulls timing to protect itself.

LOL... Nothing like your ashtray flying open and change spilling all over on a hard launch.

I'm guilty of that one. :S

WTF? Remove the headlight so you create more aerodynamic drag...smart. The only way I can see that being good is if you have an inlet to the outside, and a filler piece to gover the surrounding gap. Still wouldnt do much.

Heater on sounds not so good to me. When its hot inside, you have a hard time concentrating when your sweating your balls off, not to mention your hands would be sweaty from the heat, slip off the shifter...? Also, blower motor on would be more electrical load, so alt would charge more.

---- trickle charge, I drive atleast 30 mins to any of the tracks near me. What would be the point to this anyway? Less electrical load?

My tip...dont fly past the staging line, seen it so many times by the noobs, you get laughed at and you look like a jackass. You make yourself easy target on gamblers night...(which is not always a bad thing though, hehe) Also, if you know you cant burn the tires, dont make a fool of yourself and try real hard, it makes you look stupid. If you have street tires, burning them isnt going to help much, probably hurt you if any.

and dont remember kids, get a good full 8 hours worth of sleep the night before. ya you should of went threw them and just put the ones that would applie to anyone. like taking a dump like someone stated. easy 1 sec off the time. personally i pee on my tires before i run because it warms them up, so you better add that to the list

This is probably not understood by me because i come overseas... but what do you mean by 'flying by the staging line'?

That means when you pull up to the line to stage. Inch forward to get between the sensors and light up both staging lights.

Some tards just run right through them... It's funny to watch the staging guy run up, knock on the window and try to explain to people how to stage. You can tell they get pissed about people not doing it right. :D

On a GM, that is where the intake is, BUT like i was saying, I dont think the 'increase' in performance would overcome the aerodynamic drag that a gaping hole in your front would cause. The only way that would be beneficial would be if the headlight was replaced with a filler piece the same shape as the light, but w/ a hole cut for the fresh air to enter the air box. Kind of like on the import drag racers and ---- they have a spot where they have a pipe come out to get air, but there is no gaping hole around it, so it does have a working ram air effect. (think of an integra w/ the high beam removed, and a pipe placed instead of it, that would work, as long as there is no gap around the pipe to the body)
