drag racing tips

does anyone have any tips? I've only been to the track twice and need to greatly improve my 60ft times.

lose some weight you fat pig ;D ;D
you run those 17" rims at the track? get some light 15" wheels and some slicks or drag radials.
how about your mounts? you running stock ones and what about the front mount with the turbo? no more?
fill them mounts and get something to support the front even though its a tight fit.
try shedding some weight by pulling the extra seats and empty the trunk for the track.
good luck

I'm filling the mounts when I put my new clutch in, and I currently have a stripped interior cause I was supposed to get leather and that fell through. I was kind of looking for genral tips too since it seems to be a hot topic right now, and we should have a sticky with as many tips as possible. such as tire pressure for different tires, launch techniques etc.

Heres mine, to get the best reaction time leave when you see the thrid light come on.

don't hit your brakes before you cross the finish line, helps your times ;)

Werd. You should put the throttle down all the way too.

You shouldn't worry man. You have the #1 skill. You are tiny. My skeleton weigh more than you mang. You are ahead of the game.

reaction times dont even add to your 1/4 mile time. work on your 60 ft'ers thats what counts ;)

^ yeah but it can help you win in brackets alot, another trick I know is not to do a burnout with street radials, but I'm not sure about drag radials, I know your supposed to with slicks.

I'd spin them up with drag radials. Why not with street radials too? I know the drags get nice and sticky once you do a quick burnout to heat them up.

i dont know if this is good or not but it helps me not spin off the jump ill let my clutch out just b4 its stalls and bring it up to like 2500 let go of the clutch give it like 75% throttle then 100%. most of the time its a tiny chirp if that and then im off

the launch is the hardest/most important part IMO. i was gonna go out today and just find somewhere that i could practice launching and see if i can get the crome FTL to work.
