i've been looking for posts on how to brace a ssauto manifold? mines been holding for a week or so getting the ---- run outa it, still works great, but any manifold should be braced its just common sense, let me know.

how to brace it? common sense man....make a brace, either to the mani itself or from the turbo to the block or something. Try to find projekteg's post on it

Just fab up something...

and if a manifold is made out of the right material and welded right...it will hold up perfectly fine (e.g. schedule 10 or 40 ss tig welded)

i used to think that when you brace that ----, that is would crack again due heat expansion? (but it seems the other way around ;))

the lesson is to just get/make a good manifold. Ive made manifolds that stick the turbo straight out like a foot with all the weight on the end with no braces and it never cracked ::)

i dunno maybe its just me but i would want to make it that much more reliable by braceing any manifold, im thinking about just from the turbo that way it kinda pushes up on the turbo in a way and takes weight from it.

just out of curriosity, I have been looking at the SS Autochrome turbo kits on EGAY which includes a Greddy T3/04 turbo, BOV, Wastegate, and Turbo manifold for like $600.00, my only question is.... are these parts legit (the Greddy hybrid turbo) and how well do they hold up? I have heard that the SS auto chrome kit's are cheap and their header will crack, but if they are pretty good then I would think it's a good place to start for the turbo setup. Let me know what you guys think?
