Doc, GM based forums are a whole new scary animal, let me tell you what. I joined a site basically to get cheap parts for my LeSabre if needs be, and to learn more about the cars themselves... guys circlejerked over EVERY bonneville on the stinkin site... for instance:
A car like this in good shape, they'd probably pay 3x what its worth... Also their Honda Tech/TurboD16/etc attitudes of never doing anything yourself, and having a shop perform all the tasks, was annoying.
Also, couldn't tell anyone the truth of how you felt about their cars. I did that, was threatened to get beat with the banhammer by the admin, called him the **** he is and was banned for life y0.
(BTW, the admin owned two bonnevilles, both that he invested about 5k into each and they're domestic rice + he's put a lot of money into the engines and they still run high 14's. heh.)

Did I say it was a bad car to get from point a to point b? No. I never said it was a bad car. It's got a bit of power, decent interior and some okay tunes. All I said is that people that try to "modify" them are mostly idiots. Shud I go wit 20's or 15's, yoz?

plus they're rwd and make decent power with a few mods...

I wonder what an 80's Monte can be gutted to? They are cheap, plentiful, and RWD. While all the good V8 stuff can be bolted into one... I've never seen a fast one. You sometimes see a slow as death vehicle with Flowmasters on it, but there isn't a single on that goes to the track or goes to the streetraces around here.

There was an ungodly fast one here a few years ago. And the guy that owned it was probably the best driver Ive ever seen. He got a perfect light tshirt about every weekend at edge water. I don't remember his track times though but they were good. I think around tens
