Re: Dodge stealth?
glass transmissions
|
Re: Dodge stealth?
you need lil china man hands to work on them
|
Re: Dodge stealth?
kinda cool, almost bought one. nice leather interior, it had a phone in the car too LOL
|
Re: Dodge stealth?
i had a 3kgt, ---- shitty to work on, and the trannys suck mad cock. and if you do your own timing, good luck!
|
Re: Dodge stealth?

Re: Dodge stealth?
its just like any other performance car it has its pros and cons but i like the 3000gt looks better but also cost more but if you can a good deal on a stealth i'd say go for it tight work area but it does have 2 turbos ;) and its awd kinda make me thank of a gsx eclipese with 2 extra cylenders ;D
|
Re: Dodge stealth?
My buddy got a pearl white one, its not the turbo but its still a clean and really nice car! Pretty quick for stock trim and an auto. Looks like you'd never want to work on the motor though :S
|
Re: Dodge stealth?
my brother has a stealth. i think its a 92 rt tt. he replaced the turbos with 2 wrx turbos and even though its a heavy car, its fast. nice topend power. very tight engine bay makes it hard to work on. but all in all its a nice car. he probobly has a high 12 sec car. but thats with p&p heads, cammed, new turbos, boost controller, and has had a good tunning.

Re: Dodge stealth?
No matter what. It's still a DSM. How deep is your wallet and will you always have a spot in your garage open for it to fix it? It's like a having a supermodel for a wife and you just make minimium wage. I'm not saying the stealth is a supercar but it's a high maintnance thing plus limited budget= :X
|
Re: Dodge stealth?
I think they are cool cars, but a freind had one and got a trans clutch and tune up at the dealer. cost 5k :o
|
Re: Dodge stealth?
my friend had a 3000gt twin turbo. it really impressed me, the interior was all leather, suspension adjustable from inside the car.
-about the glass tranny comment, his tranny went, he had it sent out and rebuilt with a harder transfer case, and it broke again, he sold the car for i think 9 k, it was a 92' |
Re: Dodge stealth?

|
Re: Dodge stealth?
your better of with a 3000gt vr4, ---- if your gonna pay that much itd be cool to get a vr4 spyder, its the hard top convertable version pretty rare but sick as hell, vr4's arnt to bad either with a 3.5seconds 0-60mph pretty impressive in a heavy ass car, and 13's stock with little turbos.

it aint no crotch rocket |
Re: Dodge stealth?
ya sry i just read that, i remeber it was 4.5 sry its morn'n and im high :1
|
Re: Dodge stealth?
thats still impressive as hell, they weight so much, we used to have just a SL model really not very fast but quick and had topend, not to many cars accelerate that fast stock, and with awd and aws "all wheel steering" just makes it even better.
|
Re: Dodge stealth?
where did you guys get that number from? its 0-60 is anywhere from 5.8 to 5.3 seconds. its no where near under 5.0 seconds. That means that pig 0-60 is faster than an sti or evo.
|
Re: Dodge stealth?
i duno bd y do you always have to find wrong in everything i say, ive read it on a few different websight so i dont know where they are, but you can take a pos evo or sti, and a stock built vr4 even a galant will wrap its nuts around the 4bangers, so the heavy pig as you call it can handle ---- loads of power with the stock internals. and i dont see very many people bitching about their trannys either, or the motors.

And don't get me wrong. I think the 3000gt 94 and up are one of the best looking cars in my own opinion. I was thinking about buying one from my boy but i did research on them and it stir me away. But they are nice looking cars though, great power, and can be made quick, but its a pig with problems. :-\ And i got no prob with you anymore man so don't take what i say as an insult ;) |

|
Re: Dodge stealth?
My bother works with a guy who has a Stealth, and the tranny went out on it yesterday, its his third one. I see this seems to be a common problem
|
Re: Dodge stealth?
