do you think the seals would be blown?
Ok so I've got a local guy who bought a kit and it came with a 60/63 t3. He hooked it all up and fired it up on his GSR, he let it run for 2mn and noticed oil dripping out of the exhaust side of the turbo (he didnt have a dp on)....He said he found out the drain line was kinked and isnt sure if it actually had bad seals or not....Hes pretty "unsmart" but is cool and left the turbo with me to put on and test.....what would be your opinions about it, do you think it would have actually blown the seals? or just leaked due to pressure?
The reason I ask is I'm currently running a brand new (400 miles now) 48/60 t3 and he wants to trade plus give me cash for his 60/63... Its a great looking turbo with no shaftplay and will direct bolt on for my setup..... I just dont wanna pull mine off just to put it back on lol....thanks |
Re: do you think the seals would be blown?
could just be the kink in the line, really hard to say until you slap it on

Re: do you think the seals would be blown?
well if your confident that the shaft play if any is still ok and theres only a few hundred miles then it should be good still it could have been just that kink or not a big enough oil return line.....
