I HATE outsourced customer support. They rarely understand what my complaint or problem is and give me all the wrong answers. They're annoying too because I can talk all the crap I want and they never let it get to them...
I work at customer support for cingular, and I hate people. Be rude to me and i'm not scared to hit the "release call" button. Bastards...
Anyway yeah it's pretty crappy of them to do that. But there really isn't much they can do about the manufacturer being backordered.

A company with real customer service would have allowed you to cancel the order, once they found out that the parts were "on high DEMAND" and were going to be back ordered forever.
