yeah, i dabbled with serato once. its cool for studio ----. especially if you cant find a certain song on vynil. i havent owned a pair of 1200's in a while. i still got it though.

a little OT but does anyone know of a quality "turntable" that doesnt use vinyl? ive heard of some that are USB conected and you can scratch mp3 and cds. i could have swore i saw one but dont want some piece of ----. i dont wanna spend alot of money becuase its just for fun not like actually djing.

Another thing to consider is the numark CDX. I had these and loved them. They are based on the Numark TTX and have a 5.5kg torque motor. Very fast. The nice thing is you can use regular CDs but still use vinyle as the input. The latency is lower than serato as long as your CDs arent compressed i.e. mp3.
