Re: diy muffler
welcome to hmt, your going to get ----, get over it. and you really weren't clear on what you wanted, dont expect us to guess. if you want to clean out your muffler then just open her up and clean her out. pretty sure the pressure you want to get rid of is more in your cat than in anywhere else. still running cats? what kind of exhaust? just a pos fart can?

Re: diy muffler
this pipe inside is less than 2.25"? because it would kinda make sense to take it out then. if its just a straight through design. but if its not i wouldn't mess with it because the baffles inside are designed to be that way
|
Re: diy muffler
just get a straight through design or do a glasspack/cherry bomb and remove the muffler.
|
Re: diy muffler
yeah the pipe inside is about 1.5 inches

Re: diy muffler
that is very strange. if you have a welder at home, honestly you can just cut it open, rip that out and weld her back up. But i cant see that being worth your time because 1.) cops 2.) look fairly shitty 3.) will probably sound like crap 4.) cops 5.) time consuming. Ever considered a new muffler? mufflers online are cheap(15$ at summitracing.com) Or is the look or something else of your muffler something you dont want to get rid of?

Re: diy muffler
yup got a welder at home. looks dont really matter to me on a muffler/exhaust. ehh dont really have the money to get a new muffler as i barely have enough money to finish my turbo kit and tune. and like i said before looks of the muffler do not matter to me as long as its not chrome. and i doubt i could sound any worse than what it does..all raspy at higher rpms.

Re: diy muffler
hack the muffler off, job done.

Re: diy muffler
lol...do you think it would even be worth it to open up the muffler and cut that pipe out? or just a big ol waste of time?
|
Re: diy muffler
i mean without cats or anything like that. straight piped to the muffler that thing would be your only restriction. doubt itll give you ALOT of power, but itll give you some
