DIY auto-theft security.. ideas needed
alright, I've been thinking about ways to secure my vehicle since hondas are targeted so bad.
My idea is to get a spare cell phone, and use the GPS tracking feature. (I think nextel offers this) and just have it wired to stay charged through the 12v, and tucked away. that way if my car is ever stolen, I can track and send the police where ever my car ends up.
I have an app on my iphone that works off the cell phone towers, but it isn't very accurate (it's freeware and not really supported by any company).
so what do you guys think of this? any experience or ideas to share?

*** already posted a writeup on how to do the poorboy lojack.
I recommend you fap to a Helms, sir. Pay attention to ground points and what they control, and interesting wires that can be hijacked - starter signal is about the easiest thing in the world to bypass, I wouldn't waste my time.

that whole nextel thing... buk already made a post about this and going through boost mobile...
my kill switch in most of my cars is a 2 way alarm, and the cigarette lighter for a starter push button. when you leave the car, stick the cigarette lighter in your pocket,
ive also done several other types of kill switches,
totally take the ign out and use the alarm as the madatory starting advice
you must turn on parking lights to get starter engagment
using the rear defroster to control the ignition power. little ---- like that
