I took a few aviation mechanic classes, and the magnetos on some aircraft are enough to kill someone of weak heart. Ditto on megneto equiped Ferraris etc..

You shouldn't get shocked if the cap is healthy, possibly a cracked dizzy cap?

yeah cracked caps or loose caps can do that ----. Also NEVER GRAB THE TOP OF THE DIZZY when setting your timing, rotate it by the base. If you get shocked its not because theres a bad ground somewhere, its because YOURE THE GROUND

I used to grab 120 volts A/C for fun. It's not so bad. 220 is not so fun. I don't like to grab that ----. I lost a good set of linemans to a 220/50amp accident.

you can set your ***** on 10billion volts and it won't hurt you, as long as there isn't any current going on, current kills, not voltage.
